Twit or tweet

Posts on Twitter were at first called Twitterings; shortening this to twit, meaning a jibe or a fool, wasn’t on, hence tweet. Dictionary editors soon took note. (https://tinyurl.com/nhzmuekk)

Twitter findings

I am not much of a fan of twitter. I have probably been swayed by the rhetoric and news reporting and ignorant posts of the rich and infamous that have been reported on. Now, I have begun twitter account and need to write about my adventures. Fine…

I think it is ok. I have to be careful of who or what I read about or follow. So far I have only explored the Kansas City Royals and SpaceX. But other “feeds” pop up. I am not sure why. An uncle of mine found me on twitter and is following me. I thought that was cool. Not sure how that happened. But, thanks Uncle Kenny!

(I did put twitter on my phone and think I know how Uncle Kenny found me. But, I don’t know any of the people it suggested. I guess no one in my address book is on twitter?)

Hootsuite is too advanced for me at this point. And it costs money. Yes there is a free trial. Maybe I will do that after my toes have warmed up in the twitter pool.

Cybraryman has some interesting information, but I will need to explore that later also. I hadn’t realized how far behind I was in the twitter-verse. Or how many education related twitter accounts are out there.

Tweetdeck might be something I want to explore if I set up a teaching twitter account. I like the idea of a different account for teaching. But I am not sure if I want parents and students to post anything. Can I make it so my twitter page doesn’t get responses?

I do have some exploring to do. If you’re reading this and you like the Royals and aren’t much of a twit you can follow me. J
